I love that one - it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou did these? They look like a cross between Surrealist painters I can't quite remember at the moment and 17th century Dutch landscape painters. I love the form, composition, tone, and other-worldly detail.
ReplyDeleteThese really are very breathtaking Matt...!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments.
ReplyDeleteI've been feeling a little restless lately and wanted to try something different (read: severe). Although I haven't "edited" the photos (this and the #8 before) outside of cropping, I did do a lot of colour/contrast processing on them - more so than normal (I tend to be a realist as it regards tonality).
The original idea was to have them horizontal (a la Rorschach), but Ingrid suggested a total 180-degree flip, which I think works much more effectively/dramatically.
I do like where these are going...
Squirreal (sic): I was trying to go for an earlier period, colour-wise. There is someone in my family tracing our lineage to Rembrandt, if that's helpful (!).
