ReplyDeleteI got this first from Louis L'Amour while I was trying to lure him away from Bantam and over to the Dell I represented. That is all academic because no Bantam and Dell are part of the same Bertelsmann Group, but the advice still holds. Subsequently, Elmore Leonard, also in the context of his Western writing, rendered the advice much as you rendered it here.
